Commitment ceremonies are not legally binding in any way, however, they are still a very real commitment by the two people involved. They are performed without religious or gender bias and are a public proclamation of the feelings shared by two people who are committed to one another for life. They are ceremonies performed for a myriad of reasons by two people who love one another, who maybe cannot or do not wish to enter into legally binding marriage ceremony.
